Previous known residences in Discovery Bay and Milpitas, CA. Reportedly he worked at a telecommunications company in San Jose as far back as 1991 and up through 2001.

Sarkin's a water ski buff, snow ski buff and avid photographer and frequents shooting ranges - here in the valley and over in the south bay - Milpitas to be exact. His email address includes "skisquaw" in case someone gets an email request from him by any name. He has a black & white tuxedo cat he calls Rambo whom he often refers to as needing a companion. Says he travels a lot. Emphasize his accent - Originally thought he was from Australia or Great Britain from the way he spoke.

Sarkin was seen today. Appearance has changed from photo which is 7 weeks old. He has lightened his hair and was wearing glasses. He appears to have lost some weight. Was driving a medium or dark gray SUV (Jeep Cherokee?). He still has the BMW (color unknown) licensed to him. Was interested only in calico or black & white cats, however he is also known to like gray & white or tabby & white cats.

He has hit shelters up to 100 miles from where he lives. He has an accent (actually, a very pleasant, educated South African accent). He may wear glasses, different clothes, or darken or lighten his hair. (He has seen this picture of himself when the cats were removed.)

Snickers (cat in the photo with Sarkin) was dead three weeks after he adopted her.

His date of birth is 11/03/59. He is about 5'11". His driver's license has him listed at 170 pounds, but may be closer to about 220. Brown hair, hazel/green eyes. He apparently has a very large amount of scratches on his hands and arms, as well as scars from previous scratches.

He is a white male, South African, mid-30s clean cut, well dressed, has driven nice BMW in the past. Will seem very nice, responsible, good citizen type with money. Has been known to sit down, tell you about his cat that recently died, cry, etc...
He prefers Calico cats. He may try to adopt or foster a Calico cat or similar.

Some new info about Shon Rahrig - he's a Southern California threat as far as we know - the phone # listed has been disconnected and nothing can be found on him in San Diego right now. He was, however, reportedly sighted 2 weeks ago at a Los Angeles area pet adoption event - this is unsubstantiated, but certainly possible and worth letting people know that he's moved.
